Playback Theatre is an improvisational story-telling theatre based on real life experience. In the spirit of NVC, the true core of Playback Theatre is riding the wave of love, listening from the heart, really hearing and seeing another (empathy!) and celebrating our humaness. PB is an exquisite experience of empathy, whether you are the storyteller, the audience, the actors or the conductor (interviewer). Telling our stories and witnessing their dramatic enactment affirms our humanity.
One must be fully present in the now, courageous, say "yes" to offers, listen from the heart, be playful and true! We also explore the "form" of playback and learn short forms as well as move into story. We'll culminate Saturday's workshop by forming "troupes" and performing for each other. Through sharing our individual experiences we become a community. We invite you to join us as stories become dramas that delight, move, affirm and teach us who we are in our co-created world. This workshop will be facilitated by Cat Gilliam and Christine
King. Cat lives in Seattle and has taught and performed in
Playback both in the US and Europe for 18 years. She co-founded the
Asheville Playback Theater group and has been a member of Threshold
Ensemble in Seattle since 1999. She was also a trainer with Freedom
Project and on their board and brought Playback into the Seattle
prison system. Cat is also an improvisational dancer, a body worker
and has a master's in Transformational Psychology. For more about
Cat and Playback, go to the Threshold Ensemble. |

Online Registration-
We encourage you to sign up ASAP as Cat is flying in from Seattle and we want her to know there are enough interested players!
Unfortunately Playback Theatre has been canceled due to less than desired preregistration!
Thanks to those who did register. We hope to hold this event in the future when we can ensure enough attendance to make Cat's trip from Seattle worthwhile.
