with Kristin Masters, CNVC Certified Trainer
Friday, August 27 - Sunday August 29
Our intention for this gathering:
...is to create community while facilitating personal growth and insight, helping us to look at experiences that not everyone encounters and to embrace our differences, discover our commonalities, to clarify needs in a more empowered way, and to ultimately get past the assumptions of identity. Just as the LGBT pride movement has created a queer space for celebrating a rainbow of different sexualities, genders and races, we seek to create a container for celebrating and mourning our queer experiences through the Nonviolent Communication model. NVC helps us recognize, understand, and move beyond social constructs and internal conflicts toward sweeter, more alive connections with ourselves and others with greater authenticity, love and openness.
• How "out" are we---around sexuality and all of who we are
• Claiming our full authenticity and power
• Transforming enemy images within and around us regarding homosexuality, heterosexuality and gender expression
• Deepening trust within ourselves, with our allies and our queer community
NVC Certified Trainer (with the International Center for Nonviolent Communication, CNVC.org) Kristin Masters is leading this NVC retreat for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender participants. Kristin is known for bringing aliveness, laughter and a down-to-earth, "real-life" examples of living NVC into her teaching. You’ll be happy to hear that Kristin will joined by guest trainer Roxanne Manning if registration is sufficient.
We seek to foster a sense of queer community within the larger Nonviolent Communication network while integrating NVC consciousness within the LGBT movement.
AND to sing, connect, eat, rest, play, and celebrate who we are---while deepening our NVC practice!
Timing: We encourage people to plan and come for the entire weekend. If that isn’t possible, we ask that you join us starting Saturday morning, for cohesiveness, and let us know if there are sessions you might miss.
